Michael Hooker, Attorney

ATTORNEY

Michael has been a practicing attorney since 1985 and has served as a fiduciary for hundreds of elders and clients living with disabilities. He also counsels the members of clients’ families who serve as Trustee, Guardian, Power of Attorney, Executor, or Conservator, providing them with everything from resources and information to affirmation and support. Michael collaborates with numerous nursing homes in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts and works closely with many local elder agencies and providers. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and he has served on the ethics committees of several nursing homes. He writes a column offering legal advice and information for a local elder newspaper and has lectured on elder law topics. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, and his law degree at Suffolk University Law School in Boston. Michael lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, with his wife, and they have two children. Jake Hooker graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 2022 and has joined the firm. Michael's outside interests include photography, road and mountain biking, skiing, and watching films. He is a versatile musician and leads his own rock band.
